My father once told me that I should choose a career that I would enjoy working at every day. During the past three decades, I have enjoy teaching English in a community college setting. I teach everything from English composition to literature. I hold a bachelor's degree from Frostburg State University in Maryland and hold a master's and a doctoral degree from the University of Pittsburgh. I've informed my students that I'm not there to force them to love English. I strive to ensure that they will know how to write well, master grammar and sentence mechanics, and effectively construct an essay. I love to work with students of all ages as they learn how to successfully write reports, speeches, and other writing assignments. What I like best about working as an English teacher is that I get to read and watch a lot of films. Each day is a wonderful adventure and I look forward to helping you with your essays, literature, grammar, public speaking, and study skills. The greatest advantage to teaching English is that I can always be reading, and count it as legitimate work! I also enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and cooking.
